Centrica PLC is in the process of developing its plans for the Brigg Biomass power station. The company is beginning a consultation process in and around Brigg. The first consultation events will include a public exhibition.

Despite the general economic gloom, wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth, some businesses in Brigg are ticking along nicely. One example spotted during recent rainy weather was Grimley Smith Associates who are weathering the current economic storms nicely.
Brigg Fair crosses Pond to go indie-rock
Inspired by Brigg's own folk song "Brigg Fair", a group of indie-rockers in Brooklyn, USA have set up an "indie-rock, orchestral, power-pop band" also called Brigg Fair. On 17th April 2012, the US band released their un-folky, premiere album "Kill yourself for change".
Aviation history remembered as Heritage project launched
The Northern Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage project will be launched on Wednesday 9 May 2012. The project celebrates the heritage of eight former airfields across Northern Lincolnshire, particularly their contribution to the war effort during WW2 when Lincolnshire became famous as a Bomber County.

Grants available to communities to celebrate Queen's Diamond Jubilee
North Lincolnshire groups who want to host events in their communities to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee could receive a share of £25,000 to help towards the costs. The scheme - open specifically to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee - is open to town and parish councils, voluntary community groups, village hall committees and Jubilee Groups in North Lincolnshire.
