Big Society

They say that a week is a long time in politics, but perhaps it might be better to say a period of opposition is the longest. Mrs Thatcher was famous for saying that there is "no such thing as society". The current Conservative prime minister is now pushing for a "Big Society".

In short: the government doesn't have all of the answers and people will have to do more for themselves.
