r.m.phillips & son, builders, brigg

Hello, Ed.

Let me ask BriggLife a question for a change!

You are free to publish the attached photo on your site as its from an old business card issued by the old Brigg family owned firm who were responsible for constructing all the Town's council house estates from the early 1930s. They built some schools also, including Glebe Road Primary, and more latterly, the 'new' Catholic Church in Barnard Avenue.

I'm baffled as to know where this row of dwellings is. It could even be in Scunthorpe, or anywhere in the N. Lincs region as they often worked far afield.

I'd very much like to know the particular whereabouts should any reader have any idea -- or, with luck, could even live, or have lived there.

I'd appreciate that. Thanks!

About the artist
Stephen Hill was born in Brigg and educated at Glebe Road and the Grammar School. He went on to study at the Lincoln School of Art and then at London's Central School where he specialized in graphic design. His career included: staff designer at a major recording company, his own freelance design company, senior art director at an international publishing house.
In Brigg his works included three sold-out exhibitions at Brigg's Live Arts and a successful series of caricatures in Scunthorpe Telegraph's Nostalgia supplement - which are still available at Grandad's Shed and the Black Bull.
Now retired and living in rural Gloucestershire, he makes regular trips to Brigg and also receives commissions for artistic impressions of Brigg's historic locations.
