Brigg Fair crosses Pond to go indie-rock
2012 may 4 Inspired by Brigg's own folk song "Brigg Fair", a group of indie-rockers in Brooklyn, USA have set up an "indie-rock, orchestral, power-pop band" also called Brigg Fair. On 17th April 2012, the US band released their un-folky, premiere album "Kill yourself for change". According to a review on altsounds.com, their album "emanates sounds that rival Coldplay and Bloc Party" with "dulcet instrumentals driven by lustrous, honey-toned vocals" The band was formed by instrumentalist and composer Geoff Ereth. The album was recorded in New York by Iestyn Polson - a British producer who has worked with artists such as Bowie and Patti Smith. Ed's commentSounds like this album should give your ears a good workout. Ironically enough, the frontman of Coldplay has recently announced that he has been suffering from tinnitus giving him a terrible whining sound in his ears ... now he knows how the rest of us feel when we unintentionally hear Coldplay perform ... ;-) |
