A bright future for Brigg's supermarkets?

For a town the size of Brigg, to have a high street full of shops and one supermarket is remarkable enough, but there are two supermarkets - both doing good trade.

Tesco and Lidl have now entered plans to North Lincs Council to extend their stores. Perhaps the picture below - taken last evening - of the sunset over the carpark / petrol station of Tesco is auspicious of a successful outcome?

Or as the old country wisdom states: "Red sky at night, supermarket store managers' delight" ...
