Pingley Camp

Pingley Camp was a POW (Prisoner of War) camp set up during the Second World War for German and Italian prisoners.

Following the end of hostilities it was converted into a holiday / work camp. This attracted in visitors from many countries.

In 2008 Pingley Camp was demolished. The site is being cleared to make way for a new housing estate.
