Tax refund scam email
2010 mar 1 Just a month after the deadline for filing UK HMRC tax returns, the scammers are busy once again. This time they send an email which claims to come from autorefund [at] hmrc.gov.uk. The email has the subject "Tax Refund Notification". The email invites you to submit a tax refund request via a link in the email. Naturally the link does not take you to the UK HMRC but instead - in this case at least - to a totally unconnected .com website. As usual, don't click on this or any links in emails ... |
