Student finance scam

With many students in the process of organising their finances for the coming academic year, a new scam is doing the rounds.

An email is sent claiming to be from "Student finance online services@direct.gov.uk" in which the scamsters claim that the student payment database in having an important update. The email then asks the recipients to enter their account details on a web form, so that they can receive their payment.

The web-form is hosted on a non-UK server and the email also originates from outside the UK.
