Section: Scams to avoid

2011 jan 16

The email scam claiming that you will be sent X million pounds or dollars that has become known as the "Nigerian scam" has transformed by moving to a Far East country and by adding in other elements such as claiming to come from a serviceman in Afghanistan or Iraq.

These scammers are trying to get your banking details. Do not answer the emails or click on any links in the letter.

As an extra safety measure, it is wise to turn off the display of pictures in your email client.
