Finding Stennets

Ed writes: I keep getting emails from people who would like to visit Stennets for the first time, but who are having trouble finding it. There is no signposting to the auction site, so I can understand why it might be difficult to find.

To make it easier to find, here (below) is a sketch map of the location of Stennet's Auction within Brigg. The auction / market is held on the green triangle at the centre of the map.

Directions from Scunthorpe & inland / the west: Take the A18 into the centre of Brigg and follow it through to the Monument Roundabout. Take the third exit signposted "Cadney"

Directions from Wrawby & Grimsby / the east: Take the A18 into Brigg until you get to the Monument Roundabout. Take the second exit.

Directions from Bigby, Caistor / the south: Take the A1084 Bigby High Road into Brigg past the Garden Centre, over the level crossing until you get to the Monument roundabout. Take the first exit.

(All routes) Once you have left the Monument Roundabout drive around 50m down Bigby Street just past the pizza cafe and then turn left into Station Road. Cross Albert Street and continue down Station Road until you get to the piece of rough ground at the end. This is the Brigg Railway Station carpark - and also the Stennet's Auction land and car park. Park up somewhere and have a nice stroll to the market ... you have reached your destination ... happy bargainhunting ;-)

Hint to the "Powers that be": How about publicising and signposting this great open-air market? The many hundreds of visitors to Stennets also go into Brigg's cafes and shops too ...
