MP Welcomes Walkers to Brigg !
2009 oct 3 Re: Unto fair Brigg! Brigg was the centre of attention on Saturday (3rd October) when walkers made it their destination on an 8 mile trek from Kirton-in-Lindsey. Walk leader, Stuart Parker of the Lincolnshire Ramblers, said: "We had 47 people join us from as far afield as Mansfield and Manchester as well as local people from Scunthorpe, Brigg and other parts of Lincolnshire take part on our walk along public footpaths from Kirton-in-Lindsey.
Our aim was to walk the cross field paths and to encourage use of the Saturdays-only Sheffield to Cleethorpes passenger train service using this line."
The ramblers enjoyed visiting shops, cafes and pubs in Brigg before catching the return train in the afternoon.
