The health food section

Cafe culture has arrived in Brigg: three sisters - Joan, Linda and Barbara - have taken over Country Cottage Ltd in College Yard. In addition to the existing range of health foods and supplements, they are planning to expand the cafe section - and add to the chic and fashionable atmosphere of College Yard - by serving a wide range of specialist coffees and continental foods. There will also be an area for take-away snacks and drinks.

Joan - originally from Bonby and now living in North Kelsey - is keen to source the ingredients for the cafe locally, and she is currently looking for producers of organic and fresh produce in the area.

The cafe will also be serving quality breads - including pannini and baguettes - imported from Italy and France for an authentic continental taste as well as serving homebaked food produced by the sisters.

The family have invested a considerable amount of time and money in the shop and cafe. They have bought a new coffee machine which is capable of producing fresh cappuccino, espresso and latte coffees.

They have also purchased a 'user friendly' computer system which can be used by their customers when they are purchasing health products. The system offers information about the many supplements and foods together with guidance for their safe use.

The shop front is set for a revamp with new signs and locally made curtains. The Brigg Market Town Initiative has offered valuable advice and is looking at ways of improving the whole of College Yard.
