(24 May 2003) Ok, ok. I know that the fiddle fest was last weekend. I have no excuses for the lateness other than absentmindedness. When I was rootling around on my PC I found the pictures shown here.

Despite the showery weather, the spirit of the fiddlers carried on and there were some cracking performances including buskers and morris dancers. The dancers were a hit with the youngsters who couldn't stop themselves dancing.

The festival was a great success, but wouldn't it be nice if there was live music more often in Brigg? The marketplace - now that it is pedestrianised with a bandstand - would be a perfect venue, especially in the summer evenings. Something musical - even if it were 'only' buskers - would be a great attraction for visitors to our town.
