Brigg Horse FairBrigg Horse Fair 2005 ???Tuesday, 12 October 2004 When and where will the 2005 Brigg Horse fair be????? Regards, Emma Ed. Good question, Emma - which deserves a good answer. Which, unfortunately, it is impossible to give. It seems now that North Lincs Council shall not be helping to promote Brigg by taking responsibility for the Horse Fair in future. (It shall most likely revert to its former behaviour of sticking its official head in the ground until the 'problem' of the travellers go away ;-). So the future doesn't look good at present. The Horse Fair is organised by the Brigg and District Community Association which is a group of private individuals, who don't have the wherewithal to meet the expenses of hiring a venue and to cover the costs of marshalling the event. It seems that 'officialdom' can't and won't help to keep Brigg's event tourism industry going, so it looks like the only way that events like these can keep going is for one or more individual 'angels' (perhaps coming together as a limited liability events company) to help out by offering a permanent base - a field for such events. Help! Does anyone know of anybody who could help with the staging of this traditional country event? If so, please get in touch at: ed@brigglife.co.uk |
