A horse fair without horses?

The 'Horse' element of the Brigg Fair will be absent this year. A decision has been made to move the date of the event to August 30, 2003 from 10am to 4pm. The fair has been moved10 to avoid the August bank holiday and run at the same time as Brigg Live Arts. The fair will be held in the market place.
The Fair organisers - the Brigg and District Community Association - have appealed to local farmers for land on which the Romanies can place their horses if they return to the town on the traditional date of the Horse Fair (5 August). Anyone who can help should contact Councillor Tom Glossop on 01652 656 744.
