On a sticky and humid Sunday, the competitors in the Adventure Challenge tested themselves to the limit with a combination cycle, canoe and cross country run. Some completed all three events while others took part in one only.

Although there was one athlete who crossed the finish line in the least time - everyone who took part in the event was - in the words of Hot Chocolate - a winner.

Ed: Once again the turnout of spectators was a little disappointing - considering the great efforts of the runners and of the event organisers - leading to the question: What more can we do as a community to help the organisers to advertise and promote the events taking place in Brigg?
