Brigg Holocaust Memorial Exhibition

Holocaust Memorial 2004

Sunday, 25 January 2004

The Holocaust Memorial Ceremony took place on Sunday 25 January 2004 at 4:15pm. In a simple yet touching ceremony ten stones were placed by local schoolchildren to represent the ten million people who died in the Holocaust and Rwanda.

From Monday 19 to Friday 30 January the Annual Holocaust Memorial Exhibition shall take place in the Angel Courtyard where the Book of Remembrance can be signed. Nationally, Holocaust day takes place on the 27th of January, but in Brigg the Ceremony happens on the nearest Sunday.

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for the communists
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a communist.

Then they came for the Trade unionists
and I did not speak out -
because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me -
and there was no-one left
to speak out for me.
