Divorce & Separation - Things you should know
Figures published by the Office for National Statistics in December show that the divorce rate for the UK has risen for the first time
since 2003. The figures for 2010 show a rise of 5% overall, with divorces most common for couples in their early 40s, and a big
rise in the number of over 60s. Even if one or both of the parties are keen to settle without acrimony, the cost of divorce
is a concern for everyone, but there are ways to take charge and to control costs.

A new news service: BriggRecord.co.uk
BriggRecord.co.uk is a news website which launched at the end of January 2012. The website has been set up by former journalism
student James Martin and Josh France. Josh and James were in the Brigg marketplace "pressing the flesh" and distributing promotional leaflets.

Brigg Life / www.brigglife.co.uk - which has been trading under the brand identity of "Brigg Life" since 2002 - has no connection
whatsoever with the Scunthorpe Telegraph nor has an "association" with briggpeople.co.uk.

The hammer in hand/the butchery/elwes street
It was Brigg's General Purposes Committee that changed the name from The Butchery to the more acceptable Elwes Street during an
Act of Parliament in 1869 -- the then Lords of the Manor, the Elwes Family (the upper crust) favoured this because they were building
'better class' properties for rent on their land in that area, conveniently using bricks from their own brickworks!

Art Students' Work Showcased at Scunthorpe Museum
The work of more than 60 Art students at John Leggott College is currently being showcased at an exhibition held at Scunthorpe
Museum after spending time on personal projects that were inspired by a trip to Spurn Point.

Brigg Singers are making a bold new start to 2012 by setting up their own website. The website - which is currently under construction -
