Campaigning

Amnesty International is a worldwide organisation which campaigns for the release of prisoners who have been imprisoned because of their political or religious beliefs.

It also campaigns to end torture and other human rights violations to prisoners, and campaigns against many different human rights abuses.

The group meets on the third Tuesday of each month in the upstairs room at the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Ashby High Street, Ashby - at 7:30pm.

We are a small, friendly group and welcome new members.

  • We write letters
  • Listen to speakers
  • Organise campaign stalls
  • Have fundraising social events
  • Talk to different organisations to raise awareness.

For information telephone Cath: 01652 656 265 or 655 216.
