Charity fashion show - DEC tsunami appeal
Wednesday, 23 March 2005
After seeing the appalling pictures of the Tsunami Earthquake which took place on Boxing Day 2004, Kate Birkett began thinking about what she could do to help raise money for the appeal. With her friends Clair Heathcote and Amy Wheatley, they started planning and preparing to organise a charity fashion show.

The show is opened by Kate, Clair and Amy
Many people and companies offered assistance with gifts, money, advice, time or outfits and accessories including among others Fem's Fashion and Sue Rhodes.
The models were all local and - even though they were not professionals - gave a confident and polished performance which showed off the fashions well. The models were: Lorna Blades, Lisa Whiteley, Rachel Swaby, Naomi Linden, Lindsey Smith, Hing Pang, Kate Tutty, Germaine Mumby, Keita Simpson, Laura Mitchell, Kayleigh Patchett, Hollie Atkin, Amy Potts, Ellise Simpson, Hollie Spencer, Jade Ward, Amy Curtis, Naomi Messam and Anne-Marie Mounfield.
Clothing was provided by: Kate Birkett - graduate in Fashion BA Hons, Fem's Fashions, Ruth Davis - fashion student Grimsby College, Kayleigh Patchett - fashion student North Lindsey College and Amy Wheatley.

End of show celebrations
£630.05 was raised for the Tsunami Earthquake Appeal by the fashion show.
