One banker doesn't make a holiday
There's something odd going on. It must be global warming ... or global something. Another bank holiday comes around and its good weather again. Not just good weather: great weather. Blue skies, warmth. What is going on???
This just doesn't fit in with my expectations. Bank holiday = terrible weather, traffic jams and the sort of TV which would feel at home at 3am ...
However, there was no need of TV on the bank holiday Saturday. Hull had its party frock on: frills and flounces, cheap perfume and smudged lippy: the party was in town. Party? Well, Feel the Noise Live in Hull's East Park.
Considering that it was a local radio event, it was a pretty good turnout. Emma B (Baby Spice), The Honeyz (Hai Caramba!!!), Blue, Steps and enough boy / girl bands to keep the pre-pubescent urges of the under 13 population of East Yorkshire at boiling point.
Naturally, I was considering this all from an aesthetic viewpoint so I scarcely noticed the Honeyz at all ... ok ok .... I'm a dirty old man - but you've got to have something to look forward to in your twilight years.
And the weather held ... and held... a picnic in Scawby Hall Park. Our feet being nibbled by the fish in the lake as we ate our sandwiches ... drinking beer in the sun ... hmmmmmmmmmm
I don't know where the bankers go on holiday, but they're welcome to stay there ... You wouldn't be so kind as to pass me another beer?
