Historical air photos of Brigg, Lincolnshire
These photographs were taken in the 1960s by Claude Vaillant. Claude is shown in picture 1 second from the right (dark hair and leather jacket). The pilot is on the far right. While he was in Brigg for three months each year staying at the Angel Hotel, he met his future wife LC. She emigrated later to France but has fond memories of Brigg.

Picture 1 from right to left: René David (pilot), Claude Vaillant (mechanic), Mr Dan PDG, Fred Abdel representative of SEPATOM. The fifth person is unknown. Picture 2 shows Brigg looking north from Elwes Street in the foreground to Grammar School Road in the background. The white building in the centre is the Catholic Church.

Picture 3 shows Brigg Corn Exchange (just left of the smoke) with the buildings of the backs of the Market Place. Picture 4 was taken roughly over where the Brigg Garden Centre now stands. The field on the lower right with the pale track is the St. Helen's area (Churchill Avenue etc) being built.

Picture 5 is of the Lindsey Oil Mills on the New River Ancholme. These have now been demolished and replaced with housing. Picture 6 is another picture taken from the south west. In the lower right is the former POW camp at Pingley Farm.

Picture 7 is looking east along Bridge Street into the town centre. Picture 8 includes the spray boom of the helicopter and is looking down onto the Market Place with the Corn Exchange on the mid right.
