Saint Hybalds Church - Hibaldstow, N. Lincolnshire

12 July, 2004

I have just stumbled across your site when searching for Hibaldstow. I notice that you refer to my booklet about RAF Hibaldstow and I am happy that the information is being well used.

I would just like to make a correction though, about the Church. Although the Saint is St. Higbald or Hibald the name of both Scawby and Hibaldstow Churches is St. Hybald's. It is often printed with he letter "i" but I can assure you that the correct spelling used today is with the "y". I will recommend my RAF veterans have a look at this site. I like your collection of photos.

Regards, Mrs Pat Horton

Ed. Thanks, Pat, for the information. I am glad that you have enjoyed the pictures. The airfield is evocative and it's great that it is still in use with the skydivers.
