My wife's paternal side came from Brigg. From the 1850s they ran Jackson's the Printers and Stationers.
We have had only a few hours in Scunthorpe and Brigg libraries but managed to unearth lots of census information and like you have read Henthorn, used the two books by the Hollands and 'Around Brigg' . 'The Courts and Yards of Brigg' edited by Nick Lyons is worth looking at.
We live in Cumbria so loaning our material is not on! Our missing detail is when Jacksons closed ... probably during WW1.
They published annually a Brigg almanac? Would like to see or buy one. We would be thrilled if you could help us over these 2 matters. Please get in touch if we can be of any help and when you go into print let us know!!
