Books about Brigg
7 January 2005
Hi there,
I have looked at your web site about Brigg, and wonder if you can suggest some books about Brigg.
I have been researching my family history, and my Great Grandfather, James Neal whom I remember well, came from Brigg.
He and his family lived in Chapel Yard in Brigg, with at least 3 other families to whom we have links, also living in Chapel Yard. The family name was Neal and they seem to have lived at 33. There were other Neals at 23 and 2 families named Lancaster to whom we seem to be related.
My great Grandfather moved to Halifax, in 1889/90 probably when the parents died, as I can't find any trace of the family in Brigg after that time.
My Mother (84) recalls visiting relatives who lived in Wrawby Street, (one of whom may have been a butcher) when she was about 5 (1925).
If you could recommend any books preferably with illustrations, I would be very grateful.
Yours Truly, Lynne Vassallo
