With ref. to the query in the History Section about H & R Hildyard Porter Merchants, according to White's Directory of 1856 Henry Hildyard and Robert Darcey Hildyard were Wine & Spirit Merchants in Bridge Street at that time. There is a photocopy of Whites Directory (and others) upstairs in Brigg Library.
