Hybrid Ice Company
Brigg is a musical place - it is one of the few towns in the country with a world famous song named after it: Brigg Horse Fair. That is common knowledge - but did you know that there is a cult album which drew its inspiration from a dream about our town?
Way over 'the pond' in the States a group - Hybrid Ice Company - wrote and recorded an acoustic rock album in 1972 when they were on holiday from college. They were stuck for a name until one of their members - Jeff Willoughby - had a dream about a name which was stencilled onto drum cases. The name? Brigg of course. And thus a legend was born. There were only 1000 copies pressed of the album so it is a true rarity and appreciating in value ...
Ed: the thing that springs into my mind, is that it would be absolutely fantastic if the group were to come to their spiritual home - Brigg in the UK - to perform their album live. How about that Jeff ... ? Visit the Brigg official web page.
