Hallo,

We're an Italian Acoustic Music's Band, called MIDEANDO STRING QUINTET (please visit our web site at www.mideando.it ), proposing both original songs and some rearranged covers. Our music is a fusion between pop and rock, with some jazz influences and a taste of bluegrass. In our last CD 'VIAGGIO…' (trasl.: Travel ) we present 10 original songs composed by the Band and 2 Covers ('Strange kind of woman' by Deep Purple and 'Can't find my way home' by Steve Winwood) characterized by our typical sound. The instruments we use are Acoustic and Classic Guitar, Mandolin, Octave Mandolin, Mandocello, Electric Bass. Arrangements are often using 4 voices harmonies, enriching the lead vocal. At the moment the band has a new violinist. In fact the band will be an official Quintet on January 2006.

We're organizing a European Tour from 20 to 28 may 2006; we're therefore glad to propose our show to you. To complete the curriculum, we're proud to list, among others, the 3rd place as 2003's best European Band at EWOB, European Acoustic Music Festival (Holland) and, in 2005, the 1st place at 'Padovando Music Award' (Italy). On dec. 2005 we won the First Prize at the music competition RISONANZE UNPLUGGED 2005, a competition for singer-composers and unplugged bands, At the competition - this year at its IV edition - took part 153 artists from all over Italy. Only 6 of them were admitted at the final, last Saturday 10th December.

This was the jury comment: 'The individual technique merges in the execution of the group giving birth to a poetic and passionate live performance that has involved the public. The instruments strings have made vibrating the strings of our souls!'
