Two up

Smith Parkinsons on the Market place has been closed for over a year now, but eagle eyed Brigg-ands have noticed that it has still got some residents.

High up, under the eaves is a two-up nest of swallows. It has been a bad year for swifts and martins but the swallows are breeding successfully on the market place.

The hot summer days have brought other wildlife into the market place, including wagtails and giant green & black dragon flies.

ICE campaign

Source: eastanglianambulance.co.uk 12 july 2005

A campaign has been launched by Falklands War hero Simon Weston, a Cambridge paramedic - Bob Brotchie - and Vodafone to help the emergency services in a crisis.

They are encouraging people to enter 'ICE' in their phone's address book with an emergency contact number.

ICE is short for 'In Case of Emergency'. According to Vodafone, 75% of people have no next of kin details with them. The person listed as the ICE contact may be asked to give consent for emergency treatment.

It is simple - do it today - and tell your friends to do it too!
