First respondersBrigg LIVES - 8 Aug 2005 LIVES at Brigg needs you: local LIVES group require life saving volunteers. The coordinator and his team have worked very hard since July 2004 in keeping the team going. Volunteers can give up as much or a little time as they wish. Most volunteers give up one night or day a week. LIVES First Responders are community volunteers who go out to patients with breathing difficulties and cardiac arrest. Due to the nature of Lincolnshire and its rural roads we need community volunteers to get to these patients as quickly as possible. After cardiac arrest, a patient's chance of survival drops by 10% for every minute that goes by. If the Ambulance has to travel to get to a small village or town, patients chances are slim First Responders cover a 6 minute area and are trained in Basic Life Support and defibrillation. |
![]() First Responders need no previous training as they will come to LIVES Headquarters for a full training on basic life support and the use of a defibrillator. They need to have a clean driving license and be over eighteen years of age. We are the largest charity in the UK providing a First Response to road traffic accidents, cardiac arrests, and work place emergencies. LIVES works in partnership with the Ambulance service leading the country in best practice. If you are interested in this great opportunity then please call Brigg Coordinator - Adrian Carlile on 01652-650349 or Anthony Darker on-01652-653557. |
Brigg Horse FairIt didn't look like it was going to happen, but the Brigg Horse Fair was a success more Unlicensed?peterboroughtoday.co.uk According to the Federation of Small Businesses many thousands of licensed premises may be forced to close because they have missed a deadline for the submission of new licensing applications. The deadline has been set at 6 August 2005 but around 42% of licensees haven't applied for a new licence. Neville Blackwell of FSB Peterborough puts this down to the complexity of the application forms and 'the huge extra cost burden' of the new licence. Some landlords who have recently received a new licence may not understand that they need to re-apply. Nationally around 100,000 businesses are likely to miss the deadline leading to the introduction process being seen as 'a shambles'. |
