With the deepening fuel crisis, it seems possible that fuel rationing may be brought in if there are fuel protests and blockades. The coupons (left) belong to a Brigg resident and were issued in the 1970s when both OPEC and the NUM held Britain's fuel supplies to ransom. The ensuing fuel shortages lead to power cuts and a three-day working week. Time to paint your 4 by 4 in groovy pastel shades and floral patterns, put that T-Rex 8 track in the cartridge player and put on your widest flares as we are all set to repeat the 1970s .... far out, man ... ;-) |
