. . .College Yard is a busy thoroughfare and a popular place to shop and eat, but recently concerns have been raised by traders about safety and also the lacklustre Christmas illuminations. The picture (left) shows a pigeon nesting in a lamp during August. The lamp has been damaged with broken panes for many months. Tony Dancer - of Dancers Fashions - has contacted North Lincs council repeatedly to get the lights repaired but with no repairs being performed. |
and dark YardsJoan Limbert at The Country Cottage Tearoom also told of her worries about the inadequate lighting in the court which causes her staff and customers to be nervous in the dark mornings and evenings. At Christmas the Yard is particularly dark and cheerless with only a single string of bulbs and no display - unlike the series of displays near the Council's Angel offices.
