New footpath![]() Redcombe lane Redcombe Lane has recently been 'upgraded' into an official footpath. Fingerposts and dog-litter bins have been installed at points where the track crosses the roads. Members of the Town Council have spent a long time now trying to get the dumped rubbish in the lane tidied up, but problems with establishing who actually owns Redcombe Lane and the ditches on each side has meant that little progress has been made so far. |
River cleanupThere is nothing nicer than having a stroll along the pleasant River Ancholme ... that is, however, if the river isn't marred with a layer of floating rubbish. Many people have complained about the state of the River Ancholme, and now there seems to be a groundswell of opinion that the river should be cleaned. Unfortunately, the "powers that be" can't or won't take responsibility for clearing up the mess. Read more about the 'Great River Ancholme Cleanup'. Mini survey: Where do you feel Brigg belongs?
With changes to local government, it seems like Brigg moves from one county to another roughly once every ten years. We were originally in Lincolnshire. Then Brigg moved to South Humberside. Later on it decided to up-sticks to North Lincolnshire. Now moves are afoot to pack up and re-locate to 'Yorkshire & the Humber'.
What do you think about this? Where do you feel that we Briggands should belong? To vote, just click one of the links below which best describes where 'your heart lies':
