Rant: no beige!

No beige!

Is the radio world swamped in 'beige-rock' ? Do the local radio stations really hate us? If not, why do they play so much 'beige' music?

Twitchers

Email from Zena: Hi, I wondered if we have any keen twitchers out there?

I was on the Ancholme in Brigg today (21 Jan) and at lunchtime in the sky I saw two huge birds soaring and circling in the sky. They looked to be eagles but as im not an expert what other sort of bird could they be in this area?

They were definitely large birds of prey with very large and deep wings and looked a magnificent sight in the sky.

Do you know anything about this? Send email answer

Broughton

Email from Barbara: Could you please give me a contact name and telephone number of a member of Saint Marys parish church in Broughton?

Ed: The vicar of Broughton is Rev John Cotton 01652 652506. Sorry, Barbara, there's a problem with your email - hope you read this.

Larger police presence?

Plans have been submitted by the police in Brigg to enclose the piece of grassland which is on a prominent position on the Barnard Avenue / Cary Lane junction - according to a feature in the Scnthorpe Telegraph (16 Jan.)

The plans call for the landmark ash tree to be felled, a fence / wall to be built around the compound and increased police carparking as well as a dog-pound for strays. The police radio mast will also be removed.

Before ...
How the police land looks now...

Brigg Town Council have expressed their concerns about the loss of this tree - with a suggestion for the planting of a sapling in its place.

Feedback Do you think that these plans will make the 'gateway' to Brigg look less appealing? What do you think about the loss of the historic tree? Tell us how you feel
