Buy it in Brigg![]() Trade-blockage![]() Disused factory Is there any chance that the former Trent Foods factory on the Ancholme will ever be used again??? ! There has been interest in developing this site to benefit the whole of Brigg, but there has been no progress (yet). |
Luna bladingNow that the spring is here it is time to get out and about in the fresh air and sunshine. One very good way of doing that is to go roller blading in Lancashire. RubbishI like the letter re the rubbish. People moan and moan and moan yet the wheelie bins take twice as much as the old dustbins/bag that they replaced but we still had them collected weekly until recently. This country is so full of litter and it is no good having fines unless there is someone to enforce the regulations. The sooner the better and better still, try to install in the children some respect and pride for their surroundings and also themselves although this should be done by the parents I agree. |
HistoryI've just been browsing on BriggLife and it occurred to me that some of the people researching family history may be interested in looking at my dissertation that I wrote in 1994 titled 'Trades and Occupations in Brigg from 1537 to 1749 - A Study of the Probate Inventories of a Small Market Town'. It has a list at the back of names of some of the Brigg occupants from 1537 to 1749 and says what some of them did for a living. It has not been published but there is a bound copy in Brigg library upstairs among the local history stuff (it cannot be borrowed but can be studied on the premises). Sandra Ed: Thanks, that's useful info. See also: Family history in Brigg. |
