Production of Falcon Cycles 'gets on their bike' overseas
The Tandem Group which owns Falcon Cycles of Brigg made a loss of over £2 million last year. To reduce production costs, all production will be moved overseas. However, 40 workers made redundant have been offered jobs at the Brigg plant. The losses have been blamed on strong market competition and the closure of a major catalogue retailer. Falcon will concentrate now on sales and design services of 'high end' bicycles. More: BikeBiz.co.uk.
