Angling for pike on the Ancholme

Hi, I am a keen Pike angler, and would appreciate any help as to the best areas to fish for Pike on the River Ancholme.

Also I believe the river is very 'weedy' and impossible to fish, so is there a time when the river authority cut the weed?

It was interesting to hear about the river being possibly a danger to dogs. I have a German Shepherd (soft as a brush!!), and she always goes fishing with me and has never gone in the water yet so I will have think about that one.
