River Ancholme - Brigg, North Lincolnshire
Anglian waterways: Your Rivers For Life
Tuesday, 17 May 2005
The Environment Agency is in the process of consulting over its plans for the long-term development of the River Ancholme.
Changes at Brigg include the development of new 48 hour moorings in the town centre. These moorings are intended to attract visitors into Brigg. A project shall also be undertaken to look at the state of the Glanford Boat Club moorings and see what needs to be done to bring them up to optimum condition.
Pictured above are the White Hart Jetty (left) and the Ancholme Rowing Clubhouse wharf (right) - both of which are in the town centre of Brigg.
Outside Brigg, major works shall be undertaken at South Ferriby with the development of an 'Interpretation centre' for use as a meeting and study place for visitors - as well as improvements to the main Humber lock and moorings.
A new slipway shall be developed at Brandy Wharf and new moorings shall be provided near South Kelsey.
