Pepperdale / Peperdale

It's a bit of a cheek but I'm struggling - family tree.

My Great Grandfather has listed his birthplace in 3 diff cencus as Peperdale Lincs, Peperdale Brigg, and Byerthorn Lincs.

Any of this mean anything to a local?

Would appreciate any help.

Ed. I guess that it would be Pepperdale with two 'P's. Can anyone help Mike any further??
