Dentistry / sitting pretty?

Dentist chair

A puzzle for the Brigg Life contributors.

In the wasteland between the old Trent Foods factory and the river sits a rusted and lonely old dentists chair. I know we are growing used to fly tipping but a dentists chair!!

I pass this every day and wonder how and why this appeared here. Anyone have the answer? It looks so sad and is it awaiting an N.H.S dentist to open up a clinic?

Regards, Ray & Zena

Ed. It's hard to see on the picture, but the seat is sitting on top of two motorcycle tyres and has a pair of armrests and something at the back which could have been a backrest. It looks fairly homemade.

I have been puzzled myself about this chair for a long time. My guess is that it could be a seat for pulling behind a seed drill - but I'm not at all sure. Does anyone know anything about this?
