Brigg pub survey

The Brigg pub survey asked Brigg Life visitors about their pub visiting habits between 30th of October and 6th of November 2005. This is a summary of the results.

The average age of Brigg pubgoers is 41 years with women outnumbered by men 6 to 1. An average Brigg pub-goer visits just over two pubs per week and spends on average 51 pounds per week in the pub.

There are roughly equal numbers of smokers and non-smokers. Opinion was also equally divided with attitudes to the sort of pub with no clear preference being expressed for 'Strictly non smoking','Separate smoking','Smoking throughout' pubs. Non-smokers preferred either non-smoking or separate smoking areas - whereas the majority of smokers were divided between 'separate smoking' and 'smoking throughout' the pub.

Brigg maintains its reputation as a quality Food and Drink town. Brigg pubgoers are clearly lovers of real ale with over half saying that it is their favourite drink.

While evenings after 8pm is the most popular time for a visit to the pub (with just over 50 percent of visits) around a third of visits were during lunch or teatime.
