Any business, club, individual or group which is active in the Brigg "travel-to-work area" (northern Lincolnshire to Lincoln, Grimsby or Hull) can write a press release for BriggLife.co.uk.

Are there any costs involved?

No. Genuine newsworthy pieces about businesses are very welcome and will be placed as news articles with no fee.

• Background to the news story
• Future plans
• Write about the people involved
• A direct quote from one of the people involved in the news item
• Background information about the company, club or group
• A picture (in jpeg format) livens up a press release

How should a press release be written?

Plain text which is written in the "third-person" (i.e. "Blogs Ltd is going to open", "Mr Jones has been appointed").

Short, direct sentences. The text should at most fill a standard PC screen at 11 points (i.e. around a half page of A4).

When will the press release be published?

BriggLife is a web-only magazine which is updated at least once a week. However, if the press release is suitably written and needs no changes then it is more likely to appear more quickly.
